Operation Clarke
Clarke is a 10-year old boy who lives in Mooresville, NC. He was born with a condition that doctors have still not been able to accurately diagnose. Clarke cannot walk or talk, but his personality makes up for any deficiencies there — he has a smile you can see from a mile away! The Dublin Dog Foundation would like to make Clarke's life a little easier by giving him a service dog. Not only would this pup become one of Clarke's best friends, he would also be able to alert someone when Clarke needs something, to turn lights on and off, pick up objects and hand them to Clarke and more.
We've set a goal to raise the $25,000 it will take to grant Clarke this well-deserved service dog through the organization Paws 4 People. It takes about a year to train the dog. Then, Paws 4 People will work one-on-one with Clarke and his family to make the transition smooth and successful. Please help us make this a dream come true for Clarke and his family.
Meet Clarke, our 2011 focus for fundraising.
Meet Terry & Butterball!
Butterball, pictured here with his new owners, Terry and her daughter Jessica, is the result of our 2009 fundraising campaign. (It takes a year or more to train a service dog — and his owners — so we're very happy to see Terry, Jessica and Butterball together at last! Thank you for making it possible!
Terry's Letter
Butterball has made an incredible difference in Terry's life. She wrote a letter to thank us for providing him, but it's really our generous donors that make it possible. So, we'd like to share that letter with all of you and join Terry in saying, "Thank you!"
More Details
Service dogs require very special and expensive training. With your help, we raised over $25,000 to train and care for Butterball for his entire life. Terry and Jessica were involved in that process from the very beginning, which is why Butterball is a perfect fit for them!
